O is for
Originality
e.g
Judges are looking for something different.
Often achieved by different lighting.
P is
for Presentation
Is the mount clean? Are the edges straight?
Is the mount the correct size?
T is
for Technical
Is it in focus? Is the depth of field (DOF)
sufficient?
Are the colours correct and is the exposure correct?
I is
for Impact
Has it got the WOW factor? Is it the picture that
draws
your immediate attention....the picture that stands
out
from all others?
C is
for Composition
Is there a centre of interest? Is it on the thirds?
Is there a leading line
or an S curve? Should the picture be vertical or
horizontal?
Is the horizon straight?
In
judging, allow 2 points for each letter.
